Next Generation Smartphones: HTC Velocity 4G

HTC Velocity is the first phone which runs on Telstra 4G networks. Telstra is the first company to release the product working on this network with a 4G USB modem and now going to launch their second product that is HTC Velocity 4G Smartphone’s. Telstra says the velocity 4G will provide speed of 2megabits per second for downloading and uploading speed of between 1-10Mbphs. Some of the features of Velocity 4G have been shown under –

  1. Body – dimensions 128.8 x 67 x 11.3mm, weight 163.8gms.
  2. Display – S-LCD with touchscreen, 540 x 960 pixels, 4.5 inches and multitouch.
  3. Sounds – mp3, loudspeakers and 3.5mm jack.
  4. Memory – up to 32GB and 16GB internal.
  5. Data – GPRS- 80kbps, EDGE- 236.8kbps, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and WLAN.
  6. Camera – 8 megapixels, autofocus and dual LED flash. Front 1.3 megapixels.
  7. Features – android, dual core, Adreno 220, accelerometer, compass, radio, java, browsers, messaging and all other applications like Google, face book, etc.
  8. Battery back-up – stand by up to 293 hours(2G), 248 hours(3G) and talk time up to 7 hours 40 minutes(2G) and 5hours 10 minutes(3G).

After the results of deep survey and comparison with Samsung Galaxy Nexus it has shown that –

Velocity 4G is more effective and fast in loading web pages. Though the speed difference is not enough but, was impressive. Web page loading speed should only be improved when upgraded android 4.0 Ice cream sandwich is installed. Telstra has said that they will be doing some more tests with HTC Velocity 4G in coming days and also be on full reviews of the advice given by the customers. HTC Velocity 4G will be launched on 24th January, 2012 in Australia.
